Working as a maritime archaeologist requires that you have studied for several years at a university or college. In the beginning, you usually study “ordinary” archaeology and explore maritime archaeology more in depth.
An archaeological degree usually consists of the main subject archaeology combined with other natural and social sciences subjects. If you’re going to dive in your work, you need advanced dive training called S30 training (S30 stands for “Scuba 30 metres”). This training is common for all professional divers.
